Safe-driving campaign during the holiday season conducted 138 RIDE stops

During this past holiday season’s Festive RIDE campaign, 11 people were charged with impaired driving, Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

Of the thousands of drivers spoken to during the campaign, one person was issued a warn-range suspension while 11 people were charged with impaired driving. Provincewide, the 10,000 RIDE stops the OPP staffed during the festive campaign led to 812 drivers charged with a total of 1,258 impaired driving offences.
