THE National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said on Thursday its charges to distribution utilities for ancillary services will increase and this will be reflected in the June billing period.During a briefing held in the same day, NGCP Assistant Vice President for Public Relations Cynthia Perez-Alabanza explained this is because of the partial lifting of the March settlement amounts of the Reserves Market by the Energy Regulatory Commission .
Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga said in an online statement they have yet to determine the actual rate impact of the ERC decision but it will definitely be reflected in the ancillary services component of the transmission charge in the June bills.'For the overall adjustment, we still have to consider the movement on the generation charge, which is still the single biggest rate component,' said Zaldarriaga.
