This year's 9pm fireworks are themed around celebrating the history and experience of local Indigenous storytellers.People are seen at Mrs Macquaries Point in preparation for New Year's Eve fireworks in 2018. For the midnight spectacular, there will be explosions from the Opera House as well as four CBD rooftops.Fireworks light up the sky over the Sydney Harbour Bridge during New Year's Eve 2021 celebrations.However there will be more released on Friday and New Year's Eve for Observatory Hill, Pirrama and Giba parks in Pyrmont as well as Embarkation Park in Potts Point.Melbourne has designated several spots in the CBD as "celebration zones" for New Year's Eve.
