“My first thought was I need to take him to the emergency vet and get him checked for a microchip,” Jennifer told WYFF4. She took the dog to an animal hospital and they found it had a microchip. That linked the dog to its owner all the way in Farmington. That’s how Jennifer found out the dog’s name was Nugget. She texted a number provided when the dog got its chip and got a hold of Jessie Springer. Springer couldn’t believe the dog was still alive because he thought it had walked off years ago because it was old.
