The last thing Australians want is to be lectured on how to celebrate their country by an out-of-touch major media organisation spouting simplistic woke talking points, writes Jack Houghton.
Ten’s chief content officer Beverley McGarvey told all staff that the phrase “Australia Day” would be boycotted as it is “not a day of celebration”.
What a great way to divide your staff and drag those employees who enjoy celebrating Australia Day into a workplace culture war. Ten may not like it but January 26 is formally known as Australia Day. To ignore that is to ignore reality.
