BACOLOD CITY – Officials of this city and Negros Occidental mourned the death of former Gov. Daniel “Bitay” Lacson Jr.

He said that he will always remember the vision of Gov. Daniel for the Mini-Taiwan development framework for Negros Occidental. His committed and impassioned dedication to service will remain as an inspiration to everyone, he said.“Sad day for Negros Occidental. Another governor is gone, accompanied by angels to his well-earned heavenly rest,” Coscolluela said in a Facebook post.
He shared a photo of himself with two late governors – Daniel and Alfredo Marañon Jr., who passed away in October 2020.
