MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday raised its alert status from “blue” to “red” as Tropical Depression “Crising” entered the Phil-ippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), intensified by the southwest monsoon or 'habagat.

' A red alert status means the NDRRMC is working closely with local government units and relevant agencies to boost disaster response and cooperation.
'Crising' is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm by Friday night and make landfall over the north-ern part of Cagayan or Isabela, crossing over Northern Luzon on Saturday and exiting PAR by Sunday.In a phone patch interview on Thursday , OCD Spokesperson Junie Castillo said there have al-ready been reports of heavy rains and flooding in parts of the Western Visayas particularly in Cebu and Bicol region.
