The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reports a significant 23.73% decrease in index crimes from November 23, 2024, to January 15, 2025, compared to the same period last year. This success is attributed to intensified police presence, comprehensive deployment during events, a special community protection force, and aggressive campaigns against illegal drugs, gambling, and firearms. Over ₱153.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized, 1,518 anti-gambling operations resulted in 3,806 arrests, 352 individuals were arrested for illegal firearms, and 976 most wanted persons were apprehended.

In its campaign against illegal drugs, the NCRPO seized over ₱153.2 million worth of illegal drugs during the period in review. At least 976 most wanted persons, along with 1,190 other suspects were rounded during NCRPO’s heightened anti-criminality efforts.NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin cited his men’s “operational milestone” as a result of continuing improvement of operational efficiency.
