COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has increased to 11.5%, which may bring up to 1,000 new cases on Thursday, independent monitoring group OCTA Research said.

David said that if the new COVID-19 infections in NCR reach 1,000 on July 14, the peak may be delayed but "is still expected to happen soon." However, the positivity rate increased to 11.5% , and this could lead to more than 1000 new cases in the NCR on July 14," he said.

A reproduction number that is below 1 indicates that the transmission of the virus is slowing down.The NCR's hospitalization rate, however, went up to 30.2%, with 1,856 hospital beds occupied. The intensive care unit in NCR also slightly increased to 22.

This is also in consideration to the possible reduction of compliance to minimum public health standards by as much as 25% and if the current mobility patterns of the public will be maintained at current level.
