KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — The National Registration Department today extended its condolences to Lina Samuel’s family over her death this morning.
The NRD also clarified in a statement that its officers had met with Lina prior to her death and opened an investigation paper into her case while issuing her a temporary identification document. “In fact, according to an official statement from the Sarawak Health Director on April 21, 2023, it was announced that she continued to receive the appropriate treatment at Miri Hospital without prejudice even in the absence of her official identification documents,” it said.
In the same statement, the NRD reminded those who have any questions on or encountering issues with registration, whether related to matters of birth, identification cards, death, marriage or citizenship, to immediately present themselves at any of the 212 NRD branches nationwide for advice. “The public can also obtain information related to the department’s services on its portal and the NRD’s various official social media platforms,” it said.
