Recent heavy rainfall and flooding has led to a boom in a deadly viruses carried by mosquitoes, with Murray Valley Encephalitis identified in NSW for the first time in a decade.
NSW Health on Wednesday said MVE was identified in a mosquito in the Darling River town of Menindee, likely due to recent flooding in the region.
