The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the producers of the noontime variety show 'It's Showtime' in response to complaints about scenes depicting alleged indecent acts by hosts Vice Ganda (Jose Marie Viceral in real life) and Ion Perez (Benigno Perez in real life) during the show's 'Isip Bata' segment, which aired on channels GTV and A2Z DZOZ/DZOE 11 on July 25, 2023.
In the questioned segment, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez shared a moment licking frosting on a cake, which received various reactions from viewers.Based on the memo dated July 28, the board said the scene was 'in violation of Section 3 of Presidential Decree No. 1986.' It set the hearing date on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the MTRCB Office in Quezon City.
Section 3-C states, 'To approve or disapprove, delete objectionable portions from, and/or prohibit the importation, exportation, production, copying, distribution, sale, lease, exhibition, and/or television broadcast of the motion pictures, television programs, and publicity materials subject to the preceding paragraph, which, in the judgment of the board applying contemporary Filipino cultural values as standard, are objectionable for being immoral, indecent, contrary to law and/or good...
