In celebration of White Cane Safety Day, the DOTr on Tuesday announced that it will offer free rides to visually impaired passengers in the MRT-3 from August 1 to 6. | zacariansINQ
Apart from the visually impaired commuter, DOTr said one companion may also enjoy the free ride offer during the whole duration of the program.One must only present their valid persons with disability or PWD identification card to security personnel to avail of the free commute.
“Nakiki-isa po ang MRT-3 sa pagdiriwang ng buong bansa ng World Cane Safety Day. Patuloy nating bibigyang prayoridad ang kapakanan at mga karapatan ng ating visually impaired passengers lalo na sa sapat, mabilis, komportable, at maaasahang transportasyon,” said DOTr Assistant Secretary for Railways MRT-3 Officer-in-Charge Jorjette Aquino.
