West Shore RCMP are investigating a brush fire that broke out behind a condo building on Peatt Road that they have deemed suspicious.
Fire scorched some brush on a walking trail off Peatt Road in Langford Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022.
West Shore RCMP are investigating a suspicious brush fire that broke out behind a condo building on Peatt Road over the weekend.When they arrived, Langford Fire Department had already extinguished the blaze, which originated in brush on the north side of the path. Police launched an investigation and learned there were possible witnesses — two women in the 60s seen walking on the trail before firefighters arrived.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.“We are looking to speak to these ladies as they may have information that could help us in our investigation,” said West Shore RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Nancy Saggar.
As they investigate the cause, police are also asking anyone in the area at the time who has information to call them at 250-474-2264.
