Mountain Province logs first COVID19 case
The male patient hails from Barangay Suquib, Besao town, provincial governor Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr. wrote on Facebook.The man had a close contact on June 6 with someone who was found out to have COVID-19, Lacwasan added.
Local officials of Besao town have conducted contact tracing and 22 people have been tested and quarantined. "The Provincial CTF is in close or constant coordination with its municipal counterparts to prevent spread or mitigate this latest health event in the province," Lacwasan said. To date, the Philippines has recorded 26,781 coronavirus infections, of whom 1,103 died while 6,552 recovered.
