Motorists traversing Quezon City thoroughfares were advised to take alternate routes on Monday (July 22) as part of Commonwealth Avenue will be closed for President Rodrigo Duterte’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Quezon City Police District director, BGen. Joselito Esquivel Jr., warned motorists that heavy traffic is expected, particularly on roads leading to and from the Batasang Pambansa Complex where the President will deliver his SONA.
The eastbound of IBP Road from Filinvest 1 to Sinagtala will also be closed for traffic around 4:30 p.m. to give way to expected demonstrations of pro-administration rallyists. Esquivel has advised the public to just stay at home on SONA day if they have nothing important to do but assured those who have work that they are ready to address traffic situations.For motorists coming from QMC to Fairview:
For vehicles along QMC, they may take right turn to North Avenue, right turn to Mindanao Avenue, right turn to Old Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway to destination.
