Eighty-one per cent of adults in a relationship say romantic exclusivity is ideal, but only 70% said that sexual exclusivity was ideal.Article contentOf Canadians in a non-monogamous or non-exclusive relationship, 16% considered romantic exclusivity as ideal, and 6% considered sexual exclusivity as ideal..Of heterosexual adults in an intimate relationship, 91% considered romantic exclusivity as ideal, and 83% considered sexual exclusivity as ideal.
Of the 3,900 Canadian adults who shared their relationship status, nearly one in three described themselves as single. Three out of ten of those singles were dating one or more people.
