Despite it being the first COVID-19 restriction-free Christmas in years most Australians plan to stay within Australia for this summer.

Only 6.5 per cent of Australians are planning to go overseas this summer, with 72 per cent staying at least within Australia this Christmas and 54 per cent staying within their own state.

The number one place Australians are travelling overseas to is Europe, followed by New Zealand and Japan.
