Australian Airports Association CEO James Goodwin says this year is the first Christmas without border restrictions and a good sign that recovery is in sight.

“It is exciting that people have the confidence to be able to travel, be able to visit their friends and relatives, and take a holiday if they are able to,” Mr Goodwin told Sky News Australia.

More than $10 billion was spent on travel in the month of October prior to the pandemic, and some of those spending trends are continuing.
