More than 2,000 people have registered as new voters and applied for other services in Pateros during the extension period set by the Commission on Elections .
There were 677 applications received in the first week from Oct. 11 to 16; 522 from Oct. 18 to 23; and 889 from Oct. 25 to 30. The Comelec opened Saturday registration to accommodate more new voters and other people. Meanwhile, the Comelec has released the tentative list of candidates for the 2022 elections including those in Pateros.
“The contents of the list as uploaded are not yet final. We still have deadlines for requests for correction of names to appear on the ballot, and for substitution of official candidates due to withdrawal,” said spokesperson James Jimenez.
