Another round of snow is set to hit the south coast Thursday evening, with 10 to 20 centimetres expected in the capital region.
Environment Canada has issued a storm warning for Greater Victoria to Mill Bay for Thursday evening until Christmas Eve, saying travel conditions will be challenging due to heavy snow followed by freezing rain, and blowing snow that reduces visibility to near-zero.
B.C. Hydro is preparing for the possibility of significant damage to its power system in the coming days and said freezing rain has the most potential to cause problems. Hydro encouraged the public to have an emergency kit at home complete with water, a flashlight and batteries, and enough food to last 72 hours.
