Emmanual and Kathleen Baker, the last of the displaced residents at Hotel Port aux Basques, lost pretty much everything in the September post-tropical storm but are grateful they can still enjoy the season with loved ones.

“Not thinking it was going to be that extreme just the same,” said Kathleen.

Also lost were Kathleen’s wedding dress, pictures that were in a chest in the basement and all her Christmas decorations.From the front it doesn’t look like post-tropical storm Fiona caused much damage to Emmanuel and Kathleen Baker’s Port aux Basques home, but damage to the back and inside mean the house will have to be torn down. - Contributed
