SHOWING UP. Among the politicians who showed up and filed their certificates of candidacy with the Commission on Elections were, from left to right, reelectionist Sen. Pia Cayetano; Rep. Erwin Tulfo who is gunning to join his brother Raffy at the Senate; Sen. Koko Pimentel who will run for mayor of Marikina, and Rep. Gina de Venecia of Pangasinan whose COC was submitted by her son Cristopher.Old faces in the political scene have fied their certificates of candidacy over the weekend.
The former president said the desire to run for higher position is there but his body cannot do it anymore because of his age “I am ready to retire but I am open to suggestion. What do you want me to run? Mayor? Is that the popular clamor? Is the sentiment of the media reflects the community? Yan ba Ang gusto ng mga tao?”
Alvarez was a no show at the Comelec’s office in Capitol on Saturday but he sent his representative Audrei Perez to file on his behalf.
