REPORTS have been coming in thick and fast in the past two weeks about the shenanigans and inefficiency at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, especially in its Terminal 3.
This offloading experience was first published in the newspaper Dagupan Today last Feb. 24, 2023, and has gone viral since through a post by Jeru Cajapin. Let me reprint some extracts:'At 7:15 p.m. we arrived at NAIA Terminal 3. At 7:30 p.m., we were done with our check-in with United Airlines flight to Palau. After this, we decided to have a quick dinner at Shakey's Pizza. At 8:30 p.m., we started to line up at the BOI Philippine Passport Holder counter.
Some other passengers were stuck at the airport and four of us were offloaded.'I talked to the supervisor but the only thing that they can offer is to rebook us on the next flight, which will be on Tuesday. They kept on blaming each other, the BOI and the airline. There was no proper coordination between the two on how they can solve this kind of problem. I also found out that there were so many people offloaded today.'We never heard our names announced in the PA system.
