Narendra Modi has confirmed the 'concerns' he has raised with Anthony Albanese affecting the Indian community in Australia, following the pair's meeting in New Delhi.
At a press conference in New Delhi on Friday where the two prime ministers appeared side-by-side, Mr Modi condemned vandalism of the temples and confirmed he raised the matter with his Australian counterpart.
"It is unfortunate that we have been receiving news of attacks on temples in Australia," Mr Modi told reporters. Mr Albanese said Australia and India bolstered defence and security arrangements amid increasing uncertainty in the Indo-Pacific led by fears over China's actions in the region. "Prime Minister Modi and I discussed the increasingly uncertain global security environment and committed to strengthening the Australia-India defence and security partnership to address shared challenges and work towards an open, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific."
Further agreements have been reached on matters of the economy, trade, investments, climate, energy, science, technology and people-to-people ties.
