The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has clarified that the recent case of a 17-year-old girl reported missing in Toril District was not a kidnapping. Police Major Sheryl Bautista, Toril Police Station commander, confirmed the girl voluntarily went to visit her boyfriend in Barangay Maa on July 14, 2025, without informing her parents.
THE Davao City Police Office clarified that no kidnapping took place in the recent case of a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in Toril District , revealing that the incident stemmed from a personal decision rather than foul play.In an interview with dxDC RMN Davao, Police Major Sheryl Bautista, station commander of the Toril Police Station, stated that the narrative of a kidnapping was false.
However, the girl refused to be personally accompanied and instead asked to be dropped off at Barangay Bato in Toril District, where she was later found.Authorities were first alerted after a concerned resident spotted the girl crying and seeking help in a grassy area along the roadside in Purok 12, Barangay Bato. She was immediately rescued by responding police personnel.
