It's not just Chelsea Manalo bringing pride and joy to the Philippines in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.For the first time in Miss Universe history, the winner of this year's pageant will get to wear a Filipino-crafted crown by a local high jewelry brand, Jewelmer .Miss Universe unveiled the brand-new crown, dubbed "The Light of Infinity," in Mexico City on Wednesday . It features the Philippines's South Sea Pearl, the country's national gem.
This milestone not only showcases the expertise of Filipino craftsmanship but also promotes the Philippine jewelry industry on a global stage."Historic moment for our brand and also the Philippines," said Jewelmer founder Jacques Christophe Branellec. "It is an honor to share with you the beauty of our national gem – the golden south sea pearl."Established in 1979, Jewelmer takes pride in putting the South Sea Pearl at the front and center of each of its jewelry pieces.
