When asked about what she can say to young women facing the challenges of today, Harnaaz Sandhu of India encouraged them to be brave and stand up for themselves. “Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life,” Sandhu said, and with that answer she won the title of Miss Universe 2021, in the pageant held at Eilat, Israel today, Dec. 13. She also won the hearts of pageant aficionados all over the world.Aside from her evident beauty and allure, Sandhu proved herself to be a woman of substance with her answer. She is the third Indian to have won the title of Miss Universe, after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.Prior to being Miss Universe, she was crowned Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 and Miss Diva 2021 in India.
