Newly-crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2020 Roxanne Baeyens has encouraged Filipinos to plant their own food in their backyard to ramp up the country’s food supply amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Baeyens explained that by doing urban gardening in backyards, people will live a sustainable life because they are able to produce their own food out of their efforts. The Filipina-Belgian specified that container gardening is the best way to start engaging in urban agriculture, given it can be done in small spaces at homes.
Meanwhile, Baeyens thanked her family and friends in Baguio City for the support they gave to her despite being not physically present in her pageant preparations.
