After a stockholders' meeting, the Mindanao Star Bus Transit Inc. pledged to boost economic development in Central Mindanao by improving passenger transportation and facilitating the movement of agricultural products. Leo Rey Yanson, the newly re-elected chairman and president, emphasized the company's commitment to providing safe, reliable, and affordable public transportation.

CEBU CITY – The Mindanao Star Bus Transit Inc. assured that it will support the economic growth of Central Mindanao in terms of boosting passenger mobility and transportation of agricultural products. Leo Rey Yanson, the newly re-elected chairman and president of the company, made the assurance after the stockholders’ meeting on Jan. 18. The reelected board of the Mindanao Star Bus Transit Inc. after a stockholders' meeting on Jan. 20.

Central Mindanao or Soccsksargen (Region 12), composed of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Cotabato, Sarangani, and General Santos City, is also the Philippines’ top tuna producer, accounting for 80 percent of the supply. Mindanao Star Bus serves major transport routes in Soccsksargen and offers reliable and accessible transportation. The re-elected MBSTI board members include Olivia V. Yanson, Leo Rey, Ginnette Y. Dumancas, Charles Dumancas, Arvin John Villaruel, and Rey Ardo. An organizational meeting followed, where Leo Rey was re-appointed as chairman and president, and family matriarch Olivia corporate secretary and treasurer, a company statement said. BEI stockholders re-elected Olivia, Leo Rey, Ginnette, Charles, Arvin John, Rey, Anita Chua, Daniel Nicolas Golez, Danny Lorenton, Hernan Omecillo, and Alfredo Ligo Jr. as board members, the company said. Following the election, the board re-appointed Leo Rey as president and CEO and Olivia treasurer and corporate secretary. Mindanao Star Bus and Bachelor Express are affiliates of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, one of Southeast Asia’s largest transport conglomerates, providing direct livelihood to over 18,000 employees
