“The DILG and the PNP have begun implementing the measures directed by the President to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country especially in Alert Level 3 areas where there has been an exponential increase of cases due to the transmission of the Omicron variant,” he said. Earlier this week, Metro Manila mayors passed a resolution stating that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals should stay-at-home. They will be restricted from going to public spaces, except for essential trips in areas under Alert Level 3 or higher.The National Capital Region Police Office has activated 34 quarantine control points as it tightens security to prevent the entry of unvaccinated people into Metro Manila.

Data from the Philippine National Police showed at least 390 policemen and 108 soldiers are deployed in the QCPs.
