A five day flood warning is in effect as Ireland gets set to ring in 2022
Ireland is set to ring in the New Year in unfamiliar circumstances as temperatures will rise to the low teens - but not before a serious risk of flooding as rain sweeps across the island.
From Monday evening onwards, spells of heavy rain will pour down, the national forecaster have predicted. But the overall five-day forecast makes for interesting reading - as things will turn a lot warmer once the floods clear.Tuesday will be "wet in many areas" but there is good news for those of you in the southwest and northwest.
