Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company recently participated in the 2025 mock elections organized by the Commission on Elections in a bid to ensure reliable and stable electricity service for the upcoming May 12 midterm polls.
Meralco crews and personnel simulated quick response measures to possible power service troubles that may emerge during the elections such as downed electricity lines, loadside trouble, and fire-related outages. Seen in the photo are Meralco crews simulating the necessary response to a downed power line report at the polling precinct in Makati High School.
Since November 2024, Meralco has been coordinating with the COMELEC in preparation for the elections—recognizing the critical role electricity service plays in ensuring the success of the democratic exercise

ERC Prioritizes Rate Reset for Meralco, NGCP in First Half of 2025The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has outlined its regulatory priorities for the first semester of 2025, focusing on completing the rate reset for Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) and National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP). ERC chairperson Monalisa Dimalanta stated their goal to finalize the 4th regulatory period rate reset for NGCP and resolve Meralco’s 5th RP and its expected refund.
