Meralco called the incident “unfortunate” and immediately dispatched its crew to immediately respond to the site. Initial reports showed that five Meralco and two telco poles collapsed.

“We are currently working with authorities and conducting investigation to identify the cause of the incident. Based on initial reports, there were no service interruptions and no reported major injuries,” Meralco spokesman Joe Zaldarriaga said. “Meralco is already coordinating with those affected by the incident particularly in terms of property damage. We ask the public for understanding and patience for the inconvenience caused by this incident,” Zaldarriaga said.
