The Manila Electric Company on Friday said its crew and personnel continue to work round-the-clock to restore electricity service in the remaining areas that were affected by Super Typhoon Carina and Southwest Monsoon rains.As of 8 a.m., July 26, Meralco said the number of customers still without electricity service are down to 125,000 — mostly in Metro Manila and Bulacan — from nearly 400,000 affected during the aftermath of the Carina and Habagat rains and flooding.

We are prioritizing safety at this time, but we assure our customers that our crews are working non-stop to immediately restore service in the remaining affected areas as soon as possible,” said Meralco vice president and head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga.The company said its corporate social responsibility arm One Meralco Foundation continued with its disaster relief efforts with the help of employee volunteers.
