Meet the 24-year-old from Gippsland who beat nine male finalists to win Young Driver of the Year.

"I was a bit nervous, but it was really cool to win — there are not a lot of young people around, especially females," she says. "My boss saw me driving the horse truck one day and just wouldn't stop asking me to come to drive for him," she says.Backing the truck into a tight corner ready to load cattle.
"One of the biggest issues is getting younger drivers because the average age of a truck driver is quite high and no-one is moving up."Although Ms Ryan's job often takes her a long way from home, her mother Tracey always enjoys hearing about her adventures from the road."They are not on the boring routes like most general freight people. They travel everywhere," Tracey Ryan says.
