A 40-year-old factory worker has spent two nights in hospital after he was left with gruesome wounds to his leg following a dog attack in Melbourne's east.

Mr Chan was walking his labrador Momo along Lakeview Avenue in Rowville on Sunday night when the incident unfolded, 9News reported.
