For Jenn Einwiller, creating has always been very healing. Einwiller created the Facebook business page The Crafty Sidekick and makes a variety of wreaths and Mason jar crafts from her home in Scots Bay, N.S. ContributedWhat should you do when a traffic light is out? | SaltWireSCOTS BAY ROAD, N.S. — Jenn Einwiller and her family were looking for a change of lifestyle.
Her mom owned an antique shop and she remembers going to yard sales and auction houses from the time she was a young girl, finding product for her shop. She often repurposed items and quickly Einwiller learned how to help. She laughs now because people look forward to doing this, but at the time, Einwiller says she used to hide in the back seat hoping they were not spotted by someone they knew.
By this time, however, Einwiller had put her focus on work and figured her crafting days were over - or so she thought. Soon after, Einwiller discovered Pinterest and had ideas of her own. She started out by making Mason jar lights and in her free time she would make and post those along with the wreaths. Although she previously had no desire to learn about - or make – wreaths, it turns out they are now her best seller.
“It’s always good to keep your hands and mind busy. It can help you get through tough times. I feel blessed that I was encouraged to do this from a young age and am happy I can pass that on to my own children,” she says.
