Mayor Michael Rama urged Cebu City Hall employees to lose weight to provide better public service.
CEBU CITY – Rama, during the traditional flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds on Monday, Nov. 14, said city government workers should take care of their health while in government service.
Having a flat belly will not only make one look good but will also translate into efficient service, Rama said. “The size of your stomach reflects your discipline,” Rama told City Hall workers in a report by cebucity.news, the city’s media arm. Rama said a government worker who is serious in providing better service should start by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
He said overweight workers should start shedding off extra weight as he plans to put up a contest that will reward those who significantly lost weight. The weight loss contest may start this December and may last until June next year.Rama encouraged the workers join him in his daily walk. “Message for today, we are serious…we will have the belly measurement contest until Independence Day. Those who will become sexy, they will be part of the Independence Ball,” Rama said.
