Around 2,000 students from the City of Malabon University will receive P5,000 under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation educational aid. The ceremonial distribution was led by Senator Imee Marcos and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval at the Malabon Sports Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
“Education has always been the bedrock of our society. It is the lighthouse that guides us through the darkest of storms, the compass that points the way to a brighter future. It is the great equalizer, a force that transcends socio-economic barriers, allowing individuals to rise above adversity and transform their lives,” she said.
Marcos said the distribution of the assistance was in response to the students' request for help in different aspects of their education such as their finances, uniforms, transportation, gadgets, books, and other fees.
