Congresswoman Ann Matibag of San Pedro City of Laguna province called for an inter-agency meeting among the local government unit’s top offices to discuss long-term solutions to prevent flooding during the typhoon seasons.
Congresswoman Ann Matibag of San Pedro City Laguna along with husband Atty. Melvin Matibag join forces with the country’s top government units to address the flooding issue in the City of San Pedro Province of Laguna during an inter-agency meeting called by Matibag on Friday at the Silid Quatro SAX in barangay San Antonio San Pedro City.
“Isa na naman pong napakalaking suliranin ang kinanahaharapng lungsod ng San Pedro dahil sa baha sa sting mga lugar satuwing sasapit ang mga bagyo kaya po ako’y nagpatawag nginter-agency meeting sa iba’t ibang ahensya para magkaroon ngmga pang matagalan solusyon. PERMANENTENG SOLUSYON AT AKSYON ang aking hangad para sa akingmga kababayan. Tama na ang pagbabaha. Tama na angpaghihirap ng mga San Pedronian.” Matibag said.
A lot of things were severely affected by floods like businesses, properties, school activities, economic growth, health, and the welfare of its people during heavy rains in the City of San Pedro. Some of the main solutions offered during the collaborations of the inter-agency and Matibag were the improvement of the city’s drainage systems and sewers, and construction of pumping stations, flood control gates, heading to the rivers up to the Laguna Lake.
Matibag, the city’s LaguNanay who will be running unopposed for another congressional term, and the rest of the inter-agencies also shared another possible solution to filter the rainwater and make it useful and sustainable for the everyday life of the people around San Pedro City.
