‘Mas delikado’ ang COVID19 symptoms para sa mga ‘obese’ o sobrang taba
Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv MAYNILA - Maaaring mas malala ang sintomas ng coronavirus disease 2019 para sa mga may obesity, o labis na katabaan, ayon sa isang doktor.
Ayon kay Mia Fojas, isang endocrinologist, maaaring mas mahirap ang pagdaloy ng hangin para sa mga COVID-19 patient na nakakaranas ng obesity. Posible rin aniyang makaapekto sa kalagayan ng pasyente kung may mga obesity-related illnesses ito tulad ng obstructive sleep apnea o kaya asthma. "It just so happens mas matindi ang sakit ng COVID-19 sa kanila dahil iniisip natin kung may problema sa baga, may COVID-19, pneumonia mas mahirap ang pag-take natin ng oxygen sa katawan at mayroon na yung mga pasyente na usually may problema sa paghinga [gaya ng] obstructive sleep apnea, mas marami sa kanila ang asthmatic," ani Fojas.
"Natatandaan natin sa COVID-19 nagiging mas malapot ang dugo so usually, yung iba binibigyan natin ng blood thinners para mas mabilis gumaling kasi prone sila sa ganun. So prone ang obese sa mga ganitong sakit," ani Fojas. Bisitahin ang Patrol.PH para sa iba pang mga balita.
