THE University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons delivered a dominant performance, defeating the University of the East Lady Warriors, 25-15, 25-16, 25-22, to secure solo second in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila on Wednesday.
Led by Kianne Olango and team captain Nica Celis, UP improved to a 3-2 record, breaking a three-way tie with the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws and the College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers.
“We’re still looking for that cohesiveness. Seventy percent of the team are rookies, so we have to maximize the strength and find that strength pa,” said UP head coach Oliver Almadro.
