People of all ages from the Muslim community in Marikina City gathered at the Freedom Park in Barangay Sta. Elena on Saturday, April 22, to celebrate Eid’l Fitr, the end of the month-long observance of Ramadan. | ManilaBulletin

The program, organized and headed by Hadji Farhan Macabuat, president of the Sta. Elena Muslim group, began at 7 a.m. onwards.Marikina City 1st District Representative Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro also graced the event as a guest of honor on behalf of the city government.

She assured the Muslim community in the city of the local government’s support as they celebrate Ramadan and other traditional activities and faith-based programs in the city. Some groups also hosted lunches for their fellow community members after participating in the month-long fasting for Ramadan. The Salaam police serves as a bridge connecting the Muslim community with the Marikina CPS through, for example, conducting community outreach programs and activities.
