PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed on Friday, November 10, 2023, to strengthen and continue to expand the 21-year-old diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Timor-Leste.“I hope that these exchanges -- this visit of yours will be the beginning of more exchanges between our two countries,” Marcos told Timor-Leste President José Ramos-Horta in a bilateral meeting at the Malacañan Palace on Friday.
The diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Timor-Leste were formally established on May 20, 2002.Ramos-Horta expressed his sincere gratitude to Marcos and to the Philippine government for the warm welcome extended to him and to hi delegation.
