PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

has promised to provide assistance to those affected by the oil spill brought on by the sinking of a tanker in Oriental Mindoro.In a statement, the President said that affected families and individuals will receive assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development .

'We also thank the private corporations like Petron and Shell, who have offered their help by lending us the needed equipment to mitigate the impact of the oil spill,' he added.On February 28, the PCG reported an oil spill from the MT Princess Empress, which capsized off the coast of Naujan earlier that day, carrying 800,000 liters of industrial fuel oil as cargo.
