President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday called on public servants to sustain the gains of what the government has started as he assured the public of continued assistance from the state.Marcos made the remark a day after Vice President Sara Duterte, his runningmate in Eleksyon 2022, resigned as secretary of the Department of Education and vice chairman of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict .

Marcos distributed various assistance to almost 12,000 El Niño-affected farmers, fisherfolk, and their families in the CARAGA region, which is composed of five provinces, namely Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.In the same speech, Marcos said that the major infrastructure projects in Surigao del Sur were already halfway to completion.
