PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday called on the newly-promoted officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to uphold the highest standards of ethics and human rights as he reiterated his administration's zero tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses in the government.
In his speech during the oathtaking of the second batch of newly-promoted star rank officers of the PNP in Malacañang, the President insisted that there is no room for corruption and abuse of power in the country's police force and in the government.'It is imperative that we reiterate our zero tolerance policy for corruption and human rights abuses within the PNP and for that matter, in all of [the] government,' Marcos told PNP officers.
The President also assured the police force that the government will continue to pursue the modernization of the PNP and equip them with the latest technology, training, and resources to bolster their capabilities.'This will enable you to contribute in maintaining peace, which is the backbone of our society's stability and well-being. Hand in hand, let us lead our nation towards genuine and meaningful transformation,' Marcos said.
