CEBU CITY — Cebu City will welcome the two highest-ranking officials of the country for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Palarong Pambansa on Tuesday at the newly refurbished Cebu City Sports Center.
This comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s attendance at the opening of the sporting event has been confirmed to The Manila Times by John Pages, head of Cebu City Sports Commission.Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed her attendance at the Palarong Pambansa opening ceremony last week.
This means that Marcos and Duterte will be seen together in public despite speculations about the solidarity between the former running mates in the 2022 election.Last month, Duterte tendered her resignation from the Marcos Cabinet, and several allied political figures have confirmed the fallout of their UniTeam tandem.
