President Marcos aims to put the spotlight on the Philippines as an investment destination, and bring home job-creating business deals, as he leads a powerhouse delegation to the WEF annual meetings in the skiing town of Davos along the Swiss Alps.
“So I will say what exactly has happened, that we are forming a sovereign wealth fund..for big investments in the basic areas such as agri, energy, digitalization, climate change,” the President told journalists aboard PR001 en route to Zurich.
“That kind of format will give us a better opportunity to expand and expound on the things that we are doing in the Philippines,” he said. “So we will have a lot of those because there are certain businessmen who our own business group want to engage. So siguro, magpapatulong sila sa atin. …Besides the forum, the fora, a lot of work will be done on the sidelines, as usual. That’s really often how it happens.”Philippine Airlines Flight PR001 carrying the President and his official delegation touched down at the Zurich-Kloten International Airport on Sunday at 4:27 p.m., Zurich time .
“I will draw attention to our efforts at building resilient infrastructure that bolsters our effort to reinforce robust and resilient supply chains, ensures food security, including critical interlinkages with the health and nutrition, while furthering climate-friendly, clean and green energy to power the Philippine economy,” the President said.
